We at Scitech believe in community spirit, supporting local charities through participating in organised charity events and company/individual fundraising activities. An initiative we take particular pride in is our 1% Club, which sees 1% of our profits donated to charity, of which Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is the main beneficiary. Thanks to the generosity of the Scitech team, a grand total of over £14,000 was raised in 2019. The total donated from the 1% Club fund to Shooting Star for 2018 was £8,400 which this cheque represents! We are delighted to continue this contribution each year for such a worthy cause.
The 1% Club donation presented outside Scitech House
In addition to the 1% Club, Scitech is fundraising all year round. In 2019 we displayed a collection box in the office for spare change. In the summer staff took part in the Shooting Star Sunrise walks. In the autumn members of the Scitech teams took part in half marathons, offering homemade apple juice in return for donations, and offering handmade bags. In the winter we ran our annual Christmas raffle and a Christmas Card donation scheme. All donations from these fundraisers were in aid of our main charity Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, to help support the wonderful work they do to help families in their darkest times. At Scitech we take pride in knowing that all the money raised for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and other chosen charities will be used to provide the support and comfort for the individuals, families, and communities who need it most.
Additionally, throughout the year, the Scitech team have been out fundraising for their own charities of choice including, Cancer Research UK, MacMillan Cancer Support, British Heart Foundation, Music for life, and De Markgrave. As a company we are tremendously proud of the money and support we provide to these fantastic charities who are performing great work for the community.
