What we’re looking for
With a degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent you will also be RICS accredited or working towards it. You’ll have a good working knowledge of all aspects of design and construction contracts in common use in the UK. Furthermore, you will have developed competence in cost management, contract drafting, management and administration and quantity surveying to recognised industry standards. You will be an effective communicator, able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and clients. You will be based in either our Godalming or Cardiff office but expected to travel to our other offices and client sites as required.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be an integral member of the Commercial Team carrying out the normal duties of a competent Quantity Surveyor working in a design, engineering, construction and consultancy environment. You will work closely with clients, the supply chain and relevant third parties to ensure that suitable contractual, commercial and cost management arrangements are in place for all works for which the Company is responsible. You will ensure compliance with good commercial, quantity surveying and contract management practice and principles, and make sure that prevailing good practice and Company Quality Assurance systems are the basis of all work. By providing competent contract and commercial advice to the Company and to Clients you will be able to make a visible difference to the success of the business. Furthermore it would be expected that you undertake any relevant training and Continued Professional Development (CPD).
