CDM and Construction Health and Safety Advisor – UK

The role will be based at our offices in Send, Woking, Surrey but will require travel to various locations in the UK and possibly Europe in the future.

Scitech is an award winning company operating in the UK and Belgium specialising in Pharmaceutical and life science sectors, with a broad customer base including large corporate clients. The business covers design construction, which includes plant and process equipment. In addition to this the company also provides GMP quality management and validation activities.

Due to recent growth we are looking for a full time CDM 2015 and Health and Safety Advisor.

The role includes the following activities:

  • Providing competent CDM advice to the internal team and Clients
  • Fulfil the duties of Principal Designer and therefore understand the duties for all roles under CDM
  • Supporting and advising Clients on CDM requirements
  • Supporting site based teams on Construction Health and Safety
  • Providing general advice and support with regards to new Regulatory requirements
  • Providing support and training on Health and Safety topics
  • Undertaking site inspections, audits and incident led investigations
  • Assisting project management teams in meeting CDM requirements
  • Assessing contractors

Our CDM and construction health and Safety advisors play an important role in managing and maintaining good Client relationships.

It is essential that this person is driven, self-motivated and confident.

It is preferred that candidates have at least one of the following:

  • Member of the Association of Project Safety (moving towards CMaPS/FaPS)
  • NEBOSH construction certificate, IOSH managing Safely or other equivalent.
  • 10 years’ experience in Construction Health and Safety and/or CDMc activities
  • Knowledge of the Construction industry with an appropriate technical qualification (in either civil, structural, mechanical, electrical etc.)
